Mathematical description of the mass crystallization
prosess in ideal-mixing apparatus
S.P. Fedorov, Yu.V. Sharikov, V.D. Lunev
The unified approach to the mathematical description of such processes of phase transition, as
a mass crystallization from solutions and dissolution of polydispersed systems is offered. The problem about a mass
crystallization from solutions by the way closed-loop system of non-linear equations linking frequency function of
distribution of crystals on the sizes, growth rates and nucleation of crystals and supersaturation of solution is
formulated. On the basis of the conducted case study a number of the useful solutions and relations between the
characteristics of grain-size composition of crystals (moments of a frequency function of distribution of crystals on
the sizes) and supersaturation of environment for elementary, but practically essential case of a cell of ideal mixing
simulating activity of stirred vessels is obtained. The attempt of detection of parameters of a manufacturing process
influential in grain-size composition of crystals is made.
The considered theory practically without changes can be transferred on processes of
condensation and evaporation of polydispersed drops of a liquid.
